This product smells like menthol on first use but the menthol smell dissipates very quickly leaving a very fresh/clean scent which I really like. It's more liquid than a gel, so it's very easy to spray onto the scalp and massage in with your fingers. Surprisingly the elixir leaves no noticeable residue or greasyness, my hair looks the same as if I hadn't used the product. I have used the elixir on both wet and dry hair, there was no difference in the end result. Immediately after application you will feel a cooling sensation that lasts about 10 minutes. For me, this feeling is more of a slight burning sensation, it's a bit uncomfortable, but I've always been sensitive to dandruff products that have a cooling effect. If you've never had problems with this, you're probably fine with it. If you have sensitive skin I recommend testing the product for patches. Personally, I put up with the burning because it eliminates any itching. Dandruff will disappear after a week and a half if you use this product about 3-5 times a week. This product was perfect for me as I only get dandruff on the top of my head and around the hairline. I only apply the product to areas where I had flaking/itching. Although I have tried other head and shoulder shampoos/conditioners that have not helped with dandruff, I will try the right shampoo/conditioner because I love the smell, this product works and is moisturizing. Perfect for my always dry and frizzy hair.
