My husband is a writer and researcher and this scanner has helped him a lot in his work. He loves to. He borrows many books from the library - some rare ones - and this helps him save what he needs for later. If you're tech-savvy, it's easy to set up and use. It can scan pages and instead of creating image PDFs, the generated files can be edited. In this way, he can correct any misscanned words, make notes on the page, copy, paste (with simple search) and reduce his working time. Sometimes he uses rarer books that cannot be taken out and works in the research room. This sanner is very convenient to carry and use. It is very portable, not too heavy, and folds into a large briefcase or backpack. It's a really great thing and also supports screen sharing and live conferencing, although he hasn't tried those features yet. Prices for similar book scanners that flatten the page and have all the features he thinks he needs.
