Finally I went on another trip and got a chance to actually load this bag to see what I can handle. He can endure a lot! I used it as hand luggage on a flight and then as a regular weekend bag. The large compartment allowed me to carry a tablet, travel pillow, snack, large water bottle and small wallet/purse. Then things like masks, backup batteries, a charging cable and other small essentials were added to the front pockets. There is no reinforcement on the edges of the bag to give it shape as if there were no panel at the bottom so you can just fold it until you leave the room. The strap is adjustable so you can wear it crossbody or messenger style, and it gets really long so most can probably do it regardless of your height. It also has two hand straps so you can carry it by itself or wear it over one shoulder. I chose it for the trip because it's waterproof and I knew it was going to rain. It worked in my favor and there was enough room for a small umbrella too. It was perfect for my trip. I wish there was something more underneath like a reinforcement layer and tiny legs to make me feel better putting it on, but it's not the end of the world, it's just nice to have.
