Review on 4WD Explorer Mountaineer Transmission Oil Filter & Fiber ๐Ÿš™ Farpak Oil Pan Gasket Kit Filter - 5R55W 5R55S Compatible by Steve Cypert

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The filter is fine; however, there is no seal.

I had to replace the magnet block in my gearbox because 1 magnet was stuck. Unfortunately, if one solenoid fails, you can replace the entire solenoid assembly. Unless you want to deal with the lengthy repair of a single solenoid. And if you pull out the tub and remove the filter (the magnet box is behind the filter), you can also replace the filter while you're at it. But the seal belongs in the trash compared to the original seal. So if your original gasket is in good condition, don't replace it with this flimsy gasket packaged in a box the size of a cigarette pack. While OEM is one piece and cannot be folded or folded like panties. So you pay a total of 21.66 for the filter. There are the best prices and package deals. Even if you only pull out the drip tray, 5 liters of liquid are enough for refilling. Just pulling out the valve body (located behind the filter and magnet pack) will require you to replace the 20+ gallons of fluid this transmission can hold. But if you need a filter, I have one for free, only have to pay for shipping from Las Vegas, Nevada as I missed the 30 day return window. After realizing I don't need it.

Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine
