I've researched a lot online for alternative duvets. I had specific criteria: 100% cotton, 90x90 queen (fits my new 90x90 cotton duvet cover), alternating down, and under $100. So many comforters are now made with a microfiber cover, which I didn't want because I don't think they allow air to circulate like cotton. This blanket had everything I wanted plus mostly positive reviews so I ordered it. Everything I have to say is fantastic. For me it is absolutely perfect. Yes, there is a slight smell after opening the package, but after decomposing for 24 hours, it is almost gone. Yes, it's a bit crunchy, but after sleeping under it for two days and fluffing it up in the morning, I can already feel it going away. I highly recommend purchasing a duvet cover for this wonderful comforter. A few years ago I preferred to sleep without a flat sheet. It's so difficult to make your bed in the morning. With a duvet cover, there is no need for a flat sheet. All I have to do is fluff my comforter, pull on my quilted bedspread, and be on my way. I bought a Revain 100% cotton zippered duvet cover for $30 - and it's amazing. It keeps the duvet clean and incredibly soft. This is one of the best purchases I've made from Revain. I can't be happier.
