It was attractive because it's one of the few portable players with a magnetic cartridge. The sound quality is quite good for a portable unit, but had to be returned as the tonearm was crooked and couldn't be adjusted despite trying. Unfortunately we ordered another one which we hoped would be fine. Unfortunately, this one also had a tone arm defect, as it did not end up on the record after the start of playback. This shouldn't happen with a $100 item. Although it sounded good with the magnetic cassette etc it didn't pass quality control giving it 3 stars.
