My wife put it together and made it with ease. The only thing I would recommend is to coat it with a water repellent clear coat. While this was not the case, I am concerned that the tree will not last as long as it would if I did. I use this for a miniature pig and rooster that share a house at night and the rooster sits on top during the day. We can easily wash off the top as it came with the roof mat. It's worth noting, but not deducting a star, that UPS completely destroyed the first one we received and we had to replace it. Trixie Pet Products didn't bat an eyelid, they just sent a new one and UPS came and picked up the damaged one. Which surprised the UPS employee when he picked it up (in the original damaged packaging) and carefully placed it on the truck so it wouldn't fall apart.
