I know a woman who had her computer stolen right in front of her while she was sitting in a coffee shop (they just grabbed the computers and ran out the door). Although this is an unusual occurrence and most likely will not happen, I would prefer not to risk it. I chose this padlock even though it was more expensive and heavier, mainly because I don't need to super-glue anything to my computer. I have a Lenovo 15.6 laptop and the lock fits. So far this has worked very well when I've been working somewhere. It's sturdy, easy to install, and allows me to run to the bathroom without having to pack it or take it with me. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because I don't know why it has to be so expensive. I am aware that this is a branded item and that it is made of metal. It's an investment I'm willing to accept, but it still costs a lot more than I'd rather spend on a lock. If someone could explain to me why Kensington chose this price for this lock, and if that explanation sounds reasonable, I would consider changing it to 5 stars.
