- A family member needed extra storage space in the kitchen and had an unused closet available but needed shelving. We chose this tower over the competition because the liner was important to us and we liked the option of combining it or having 2 separate towers. The narrow width and versatility was very important because they didn't know the closet size and I guessed what would fit. Assembly was very easy, but we've used this type of shelving before, so we had some experience. We were very happy with the conversion and it fits nicely in the kitchen pantry. However, the legs are thin, which does not give the impression of solidity. If you're looking to put something very heavy on the shelves, this may not be for you. Also, I should note that this was intended for a renter. So the light, small aspect is useful. As for the comments about the unstable or wobbly build, since we connected two units and placed them in a cupboard, they seemed sturdy for their intended use of storing groceries and small appliances. I didn't notice any hesitation. As for the recommendations: I would recommend this to a renter with light requirements. I wish it had an extra shelf or two. As it is mainly used for small and light items, more shelves would be nice to take full advantage of the height of the items. I think there are better options for those who want a more permanent storage solution. So I wouldn't recommend it to a neighbor or use it in my own house. BUT the family member we bought it for loves the pantry makeover. Downgraded it to 3 stars. Too easy duty. Not a very good value. Get something with firmer support (thicker bars).
