I was looking for an almost white backlight for my TV. I wanted to be able to set a warmer or colder temperature to match the lighting in the room and the TV picture. That's not it. The colored LEDs are poorly balanced and the app doesn't allow for sufficient fine-tuning. The closest I could get to white was a washed out yellowish tint. The app doesn't work well with fine-grained controls, and the iPad/iPhone version doesn't render correctly, making the color wheel unusable. I could deal with all of that. while connected to the BT light chain. I tried 3 different Android phones: Moto 5, Moto 6 and Samsung S7. None of them could hold the thread of light. The two bikes didn't even connect. My iPad Air connected but the app had issues. I've been stuck with a painful green backlight for quite some time because I couldn't find a controller to fix it. Of course, this may be due to my RF environment, but it was a serious problem. I'd rather have white LEDs with a dial to control the intensity. Luckily, the physical installation was as easy and hassle-free as advertised. The strips were a good length for my 60" TV and were easy to stick on. The LEDs are RGB blocks which are bright enough and I have no doubt that they will serve well for those who want dynamic lighting effects. Unfortunately, communication issues render them pretty much useless to me.
