I use it for grilling and baking. The temperature is measured very quickly, so you don't have to worry about keeping the grill lid or oven door open for more than 2 seconds. The display is large and easy to read, so you don't have to look for reading glasses first :) The auto-off function is very useful - I forgot to put the probe back several times, but the auto-off function worked. I definitely recommend it and would buy it again. The only gripe I have is that the thermometer seems more comfortable for left-handers (and I'm right-handed). Excellent value for money in any case.
