Review on Tandy Leather Sewing Awl 1216 00 by Lilly Smith

I don't know what everyone else got but what I got was crap. First, the awl doesn't match the instructions on the web. The thread cannot be passed through the center as shown in the instructions, and the needle attached to it is too small for the thread attached to it. The screw holding the spool is only threaded at the very end, causing it to stick out at the other end and the spool is never tight as instructed. In addition, the threads at the receiving end are almost threadless, so that even slight pressure leads to the threads tearing. All in all it was a big disappointment.
