I tested this on my Samsung Note 10 using both the native camera app and the user manual recommended app that came with the microphone. Both applications failed to record audio. I figured it might be an issue with the 3.5mm USB-C jack (since the Note 10 doesn't have a headphone jack), so I tried recording with the mic on my regular wired headphones through the jack. My headphone mic worked fine with the jack. Then I checked the microphone on my laptop and again there is no sound. And yes, I've always made sure the mic/adapter jacks are plugged in as tightly as possible. I don't know what else to try at the moment, so I can just return it. In any case, I'd like to know that an external app might be required for it to work (although it didn't work in my case) just because I wanted to record in the phone's native camera app. It has features not found in the manufacturer's recommended camera app. So it wouldn't serve the purpose anyway. Arrived well packaged and would be great value if it worked.
