Overall quality and construction is good although there are some design flaws in my opinion. The mesh on the door should be stronger or maybe have a smaller door "window". A relentless animal would be easier to load through the side port; Based on the picture I thought the unit would have it, but the zippers shown on the sides only add about an inch of width on each side of the unit and are not doors. It's not easy to overload a wriggling animal with sharp claws and it's quite difficult to push/hold an animal and zip the large door shut and then it tips over because it narrows if you even try a happy animal to fit inside. Once inside, if the animal moves at all, the backpack will tip over too. I doubt how well the net will hold up once the animal starts scratching it hard! The shape and design is a little awkward in the sense that when walking through the undergrowth it tends to snag on limbs and get stuck on things. This causes the backpack straps to slip off one way or another and I wondered as the backpack slipped over my shoulder throwing my 16#16 friend aside if the straps were going to break. There is a mysterious zipper on the back next to the wheels which I was hoping had a waist strap to keep the backpack from sliding down like that. Instead it contains a small nylon valve which I'm not sure about? Built-in water tank? If this nylon flap was bigger it could cover the wheels when not in use to keep them from snagging on things. The shoulder straps could be a little softer, but not unbearable. I didn't have a problem with the nasty wheel grind, but the inlaid padding (inside the backpack?) fell off so I had to tape it shut, otherwise there was no padding on the long back. In summary I would say that if you have a cooperative, older, trained or quiet animal and use it more for short trips/journeys it would be great. I wouldn't trust him with animals in a crowded airport or any other situation where they might get scared and try to run away. When I think "backpack" I think of going into the wild and buying a backpack to help young animals that might get tired, or to pick them up and pack them when the terrain is dangerous or big dogs or wild ones Animals they might threaten go. . I would say just a few modifications would make this the most versatile and practical backpack/tote I have ever seen. It's almost perfect for anything it can be used for.
