I installed the cams on my Harley FLSTF 96ci 09' and started noticing some clutch slippage, not much but some in higher gears. I bought a Barnett HD clutch spring to prevent slippage. This of course eliminated the slip, but the clutch was very stiff. Inconvenient to stop and drive. I looked at several products that reduce clutch pull and settled on Burly based on the price and good reviews. Installation was a 6 out of 10 on the difficulty scale as I had to pull on the exhaust pipe to access the TOB door studs and remove it. Reading the instructions doesn't give a very accurate indication of the orientation of the longer arm. Is it going above or below equity leverage? They show a VERY blurry image showing it's installed. but you can't see if it's higher or lower. After you get it wrong, it becomes obvious that it goes through stock leverage, otherwise it gets stuck at the cap. The hardest part of the installation is screwing the clutch cable back into the cover. My neighbor even tried it and gave up after 10 minutes of refusal. Then I tried again and it started right away. It's funny how it works. After the last adjustments (I didn't have to use the upper cable guide, just the lower one) the clutch force was the same as the stock clutch. Spring. So it's reduced traction to the point where it's now fine and not taxing traffic. So I give it a B+ for easier effort. After reading all the reviews I was expecting less effort but I'm happy with the results and I'm sure you are too. And the last. I use a Barnett clutch cable and had to adjust the cable 4 times to properly engage and disengage the clutch. This is what I've read from other users saying that proper alignment can be a real issue when using the Burly kit. I wanted to add. The ONLY way to properly adjust the clutch was to loosen the TOB adjustment in the clutch 1/4″. After loosening the cable, I found that the lever had NO play. The lever is pulled. I adjusted the free play on the lever until the bike stopped slipping in gear with the clutch depressed and it was easy to shift into gear and find neutral as well. I know it sounds wrong but it worked. I've read others who have also had to use this type of setup. As long as everything works properly, you're good to go. I hope this helps those who aren't getting the setup right.
