Some of my computer equipment is connected to a UPS. The rest is connected to this network filter. Sockets are spaced well enough to be used. (Some surge protector crown outlets are too close together, so you can't use more than one.) My commercial power supply has been fairly reliable since I bought this surge protector, but I've had a few power outages. If I'm at home when the power goes out, I usually try to turn everything off until the power comes back to avoid power surges. So, as far as I know, this device hasn't had to endure any major power surges.
