Witchcraft. I tested this by cleaning my partner's comb and was so amazed I had to take a spectacular before and after photo for people to believe me. WHERE WAS MY ALL LIFE?! I brush my comb. Maybe not as often as I should (pictured about a month without washing), but I do and it's the most annoying thing I wash, so I'll probably wait as long as possible to at least try. I can soak it, wash it a million times, and my wrist won't last long before I can get every nasty drop of oil out of the bristles. I usually give up when it's "clean enough" and there are still oil slicks on it, simply because I can't handle the fact that I'm trying to rip their smug little asses off every bristle. This usually results in me having to buy a new brush from time to time. NO LONGER. SMUG OIL BLOBS, YOU'VE FOUND THE RIGHT COMBINATION. SUCK THIS. I used to spend probably an hour cleaning my brush, this dramatic change took 10-15 minutes (mainly because I dropped the brush in the toilet and had to spray it with alcohol and wait for it to be sanitized - I usually soak my brush in hot soapy water for 5 minutes). Serious. I scooped out the excess hair with a spatula, spritzed with rubbing alcohol, let sit for 10-15 minutes, rinsed with hot water, then happily (and probably insanely) brushed literally EVERYTHING off my brush for two minutes. Soaped, rinsed and viola! My brush is undamaged (although I was very aggressive) and looks brand new. I could cry with joy.
