These shoes are mostly comfortable and ideal for general professional use. I'm about 195 feet and walk a lot, and I was looking for a shoe that could handle about 3 miles or more of brisk walking downtown and in offices. At the end of the commute the first day I wore them, the soles of my feet definitely weren't cushioned enough and were starting to hurt a bit, so I got the inside of the sole done by a Dr. Scholl insert replaced. This helped some as it was a little uncomfortable standing on one leg the next day. I would say if your commute involves brisk walking you can opt for something that looks more like tennis shoes or just wear tennis/sneakers on your commute and leave them at the office. the look and feel of this shoe and the comfort of slipping it on. It could use a little more cushioning, but overall not bad.
