Review on Logitech MK850 Wireless Keyboard πŸ’» and Mouse Combo for Enhanced Performance by Kristopher Rodriguez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not recommended for Windows 10 PCs

This keyboard (combination with mouse) is one step forward and several steps back. Designed for Windows and Mac operating systems, the keyboard does not work on Windows - I cannot comment on its use on Mac computers. First, the documentation is poor - try downloading the documentation online if the keyboard doesn't work! Most of what I've read about this keyboard relates to technical flaws - the reality is that this keyboard is missing many key features and the design of many key keys is poor. There is no dedicated "Windows" key. It's a weird start key combo without the windows logo key, it's smaller than the regular windows key, and it's sandwiched between the function key and the alt key. It's style over function and makes the keyboard less suitable for a Windows computer. Also, there are no dedicated volume up, down, or mute buttons. The sound controls require a combination of keystrokes to change the volume, and a frankly terrible necessity. This makes the keyboard useless for those working where a phone would normally be used. He's annoyed by the lack of a backlit keyboard, so he has to find the right key combination. As already mentioned, the keyboard is not backlit - a very nice feature for working in low light conditions, which is common in developed countries, by the way. No silkscreen button is another design flaw. There is no Scroll Lock button. The left control button is smaller; 87% of Americans are right-handed, and nearly all use the left control key as the dominant. The Ctrl-C or Ctrl-V keyboard shortcuts now look boring and difficult to use with this smaller control button. The reason I bought it was to use it on two computers - which it does with all the glitches mentioned. Above. The mouse is medium sized. The Logitech Options downloaded software doesn't do anything that Windows 10 already does. The Mouse and Keyboard Settings downloaded software is nothing more than a software updater and registry to provide Logitech tracking data. I have used several Logitech products over the years and it was a big, big disappointment. If you are a Windows user, this is worse than "I do not recommend this product", my recommendation is "DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT". Since keyboards have been around for decades, I don't see how Logitech could come up with an absolutely horrible design. This is a big failure.
