Review on AntennaMastsRus - Made In USA - 4 Inch Gold Aluminum Antenna Is Compatible With Toyota Tacoma (1995-2015) by Donald Cummings

I ordered a 17" Rover model hoping to get a lower profile antenna so I can park in my garage without banging against the door to bump Mechanically, the antenna is fine, easy to assemble, flexible and seems relatively solid. I dock it with style points as during production holes are visible along the entire length caused by injection molding - no big deal. However, I will send the antenna back because of very poor reception. I was expecting some drop in signal strength from the stock antenna on my 2015 Tacoma, but the signal is so weak with this replacement antenna that it's little better than without the antenna installed. I literally can't pick up a single AM station and can only tune into one FM station. I compared with and without the new antenna and the difference in reception is barely noticeable. I'd like to confirm if there is actually a wire inside the antenna, but it's impossible to do so without damaging it. I've read other reviews that said they have good signal reception, but that wasn't my experience with 17" ATVs. I will be returning this ($3.75 return shipping) but I might try my luck with a 21" wire wrap antenna that looks more like the original antenna on my Tacoma.
