These food grade plastic containers were purchased for homemade flavored popcorn. Came with a very strong plastic chemical smell. I washed it several times with dish soap, put it outside without a lid for 2 days, washed again and rinsed in water with baking soda. The smell was the same as the day they arrived. They've been in the cupboard for 2 months now with 1/2 box of baking soda in each container to try and get rid of the smell. I've given up the idea of ever using them on any foods as I'm pretty sure the smell can't be removed. I'm sure I'll find another use for them, but I'm disappointed that they can't be used for what I originally intended.
