Easy to use, take TL photos and videos. Accessories are so-so.

After several long slow motion videos I can say that I like this camera. Okay the quality isn't DSLR but it's way better than my various Brinno cameras. This camera can take photos or video clips and combine them into AVI videos. So it can take a photo every xxx seconds/minutes/hours or record a video clip of a specified length every xxx seconds/minutes/hours. Time-lapse recording into short video clips and then sped up 1000x in Premiere looks really different. My only complaint about the camera is that you can't set the frame rate for the time-lapse. When you capture still images, the video is 15 frames per second. It's quite a stutter. I use Premiere to interpolate and upscale the video to 30 fps. It's easy to use and delivers decent results. Dim light is normal. Better than expected but not DSLR quality - image is quite grainy but usable. It is weather resistant and has a battery life of over 6 months. Another issue - and the main reason why it's not 5 stars - is the location of the mounting holes. Both are located on the rear half of the case. So when you mount and open the camera, the BACK stays in place. The lens and screen are displayed. How the hell are you supposed to get a preview of what you're filming? I ended up attaching a GoPro mount to the front so I could accurately line up and preview the lens. A good "set it and forget it" camera, especially for long time-lapse shots. ! Other accessories are ok. The clamp had a broken part and had a cross thread. The aluminum mount was very fragile and I wouldn't trust it for extended outdoor use. It *just* supports the weight of the camera when perpendicular to the wall, and any bird that lands on it will snap the very thin rod from the base. The latch works well and locks the door securely. It can also be locked.

Pros
  • 4. With this 120 degree wide angle time lapse camera, you just need to set the date and time of recording and it will start automatically. This camera is the most convenient and practical tool for a variety of long-term and short-term indoor and outdoor photography.
