I really like these. They remind me of the record holders that Radio Shack sold a long time ago. They are all metal and fairly durable. They come with a plastic non-conductive LED insert (required as everything else is conductive), a metal lock washer and a metal lock nut. To use them, drill a hole in your project's panel large enough for the threaded base to fit through. Then insert a 5mm round LED into the threaded base, place the plastic bracket over the LED leads and firmly seat the plastic bracket into the base. Remove the nut and lock washer, insert the assembled LED into the front panel of your project and install the lock washer and nut. I was initially concerned that the plastic insert would not stay in place, but once the LED was installed it was very difficult to remove. I am confident that the LED will remain in place, despite all the most serious violations. Do not overtighten the locknut as it is not machined hard enough to withstand much force. Tighten it fully and the lock washer will hold it in place.
