I am buying a new teapot today because I managed to break the spout with a stone pitcher while washing the dishes. It was my great fault that I hit the spout hard with a stone jug. I'm surprised the pan lasted as long as we tossed it in the dishwasher many times. It's a good pot, but it's still fairly thin glass. Just in case, don't keep it in the sink while doing other things and you don't risk hitting it with other dishes. I like this pot more than others because the lid can stay on when the brewer is removed. Many pots don't make it and the lid stays tightly closed. My previous pot had a glass lid and strainer that were too easy to break. It shouldn't be difficult to keep this pot from breaking, but you have to be careful with the spout.
