Not suitable for fuel leak detector

I followed the instructions and the liquid did not change color which pleased me very much as it does not indicate a leak. So I decided to fit a tester to bleed the air out of the exhaust pipe and to my surprise the fluid from the combustion fumes didn't turn as yellow as it should. The exhaust pipe is exhaust fumes and the liquid did not turn as yellow as it should. So I don't know if I got a false negative when sucking gases out of the radiator.
