After 6-8 hours of activation on a sunny day and turning both sides, they still did only a 'good' job removing musty odors in two small cupboards and nothing was too notice the difference is in the master bedroom wardrobe - even if two large bags are used together. The two pairs of shoes I tried them with showed little difference after a week with bags. I assume they're fine for small, slightly smelly rooms, but I don't see them powerful enough to fight strong odors or large spaces. Febreze works much better. It's only been about 2-1/2 weeks and it says they only need to be charged monthly, but I'll try charging them again to see if there's a difference. They're well packaged and appear to be well made - they even come with metal shackles - but the bottom line is they just don't do the job as they should. Pretty disappointed.
