Premium Canvas Glove with Padded Palm

This is a review of the Magid MultiMaster 796KWNL Cotton Glove with Knit Cuffs. It comes in a pack of 12 pairs. I also tested a similar glove, the Liberty 4518BL Fabric Double Palm Glove. As far as I can tell, the only significant difference between the Magid and Liberty is the color. As you can see from the product image, Magid is LIGHT GREEN. This style of glove with a large palm and short fingers has a comic look and the bright green color really makes me have clown hands! Of course, it's not the look that worries me the most, but how they perform in gardening. I mentioned the Liberty review because the Magid gloves worked the same as the Liberty. As I mentioned in this review, buying gloves online is more difficult than in a local store. You can simply go to the nearest major department store and try on the gloves until you find the right size and material. Most of them are sold as single or double pairs. However, if you need multiple gloves per pack then in my experience you will find better selection and in many cases cheaper prices when shopping online. But you don't really know if the fit/material is right for you until the gloves arrive, so it's kind of a gamble. These gloves are made from fairly thick canvas that still retains fairly good flexibility. I had no problem picking up tools or pulling weeds. Of course, dexterity is limited by the material, and you'll need to remove your gloves to more easily manipulate smaller objects. The sleeve cuffs are made of thin, elastic jersey. Many gloves of this style do not have a leather palm strip. In fact, the palm is a bit large for my taste. Instead of a palm strip, the glove is reinforced with a cotton inner lining for "extra insulation". The liner is likely to provide some protection from getting caught on a hot object. Ironically, gloves get hot on a summer's day. The material does not protect you from direct punctures such as nails or blade cuts. For such protection you need leather. But they protect well from short chips and sharp edges, and also protect your hands from poison ivy when weeding. These are very good gloves for certain purposes; However, there are some problems when using it for gardening. On the one hand, as mentioned above, they heat up noticeably on hot summer days. But more importantly, the material is somewhat slick, making it difficult (and tiring) to grip handles like the metal handle of a lawnmower or the wooden handle of a hoe. I gave four stars because they appear to be gloves of acceptable quality; However, for my summer gardening use, they are a little hot and the material is too smooth for the handles to grip. As an add on, I have found that dotted PVC canvas gloves like the Kinco 862 offer a good grip when working in the garden.
