I got it when my children were 4 and 7 years old. As far as I know, they've never dropped the tablet, and when they did, it was without damage. The strength and grip of the bumper really helps them hold the tablet. Also, I didn't use a screen protector. *sigh* calves! Life on the wild side! Will be buying another soon if I order another Tab A 10. Unfortunately, my kids have found a passion for Roblox and they love watching each other (and me) play. Yes, we are "those" parents. Our wild children play with electronics all the time. As mentioned in the questions section, this prevents the tablet from charging in the dock, but the USBC connector is what we use most. The bumper is very easy to remove and reattach. I mean, if you're able to skillfully change a 2-year-old's diaper, you've got way more talent than you need putting that bumper cover on than that bumper. But I digress.*sigh * .
