We love glass containers for storing leftovers and have used all sizes and brands (Glad Lock etc) for many years. Many of them lasted over 10 years. I really wanted an XL container and I came across this one. I read reviews about it breaking but I was wondering how bad could it be? I have always used such containers. Well I used this, it worked great the first time. Then the second time I used it, I noticed a long plastic "ding" on my countertop. The "thing" was the part of the lid that closed under the jar. It's just annoying when I put the lid on the countertop to pour the leftovers into the glass jar. Doesn't compress anymore. Maybe it's because she washed the dishwasher? or am I not sure? I just bought this item and literally used it once! I'm sure it looks like a DOLLAR SIGN! So disappointed I wasted my money as it was almost $30!
