I put on a thick leg and ankle bandage, placed the foot in the shock absorbing area and fastened it with the required density with Velcro straps. This inner pad fits perfectly into a strong and supportive outer boot. There are velcro straps on the front of the boot that keep the boot in place nicely and won't wobble or wobble. At the top of the outer shoe is a long Velcro strap that keeps both the inner and outer shoe secure. more than enough ankle and foot support. I couldn't even walk without shoes. After the inner and outer shoe were firmly secured, my weight shifted from the damaged part to the supporting shoe. There was some pain lifting and moving, but with crutches I was able to walk pain free and my foot and ankle healed well and faster than expected. I only took this shoe off to shower, used a shower chair, with help, trying not to put pressure on the foot. I wore the boot 24 hours a day and slept with my foot in the boot, propped up on several pillows and upright. This boot allowed me to remain mobile, reduced the amount of pain I could experience and was of paramount importance in healing various damaged parts of my foot and ankle. I would highly recommend this shoe to others in my position. It is a well made and very well designed medical device. I recommend using it for sprains and fractures. This is a high quality product that will heal your injuries well. As always, handle and use such medical devices only under the care and supervision of your physician.
