This is a very bright LED flashlight. The only problem is that there is no easy way to start the dimmer. Ordinary dimmer switches for LED lamps do not work with this device. I tried a regular Home Depot LED dimmer but it didn't buzz and dim properly. Upon further investigation, this fixture requires a 0 to 10 volt dimmer switch, which must be ordered by special order, and you must run two wires from the ceiling to the outlet for this new dimmer to work properly. There is a purple/grey wire attached to the base of the light and these are the two wires that should go to the 0 to 10 volt dimmer. Again, you'll need to go through the ceiling and walls, or hire an electrician to do it. That extra work or hiring an electrician will cost you more in the long run. My advice would be to just pay more to get an LED bulb that works with a dimmer at major department stores like Home Depot or Lowe's.
