My child who just turned 3 normally wears a size 4T but because the pants looked big I ordered a size 3T instead of 4T-5T. The 3T fitted well but they shrunk after the first wash (they can wear out but are very snug) so I ended up ordering the 4T+ which is roomier but fits perfectly after the first wash. In terms of absorbency, these pants absorb the most moisture. These pants are not diapers so any expectation that they will keep your baby completely dry is unrealistic, but they do keep your baby dry and sometimes absorb almost all moisture. If I see this, there may be a moisture stain or two on the outerwear. When I go out wearing a pair of non-elasticated "rubber pants" with these sweatpants, they add extra protection from breakouts to the point where his outerwear doesn't need to be changed after a minor accident. I am very happy with the purchase.
