This mattress vacuum bag will save you SO MUCH space in your rental car. This vacuum bag easily cut my foam mattress in half. It doesn't go completely flat, but my 12-inch queen-size foam mattress shrunk to about 5 inches. This vacuum mattress bag reduces the size of your mattress depth but doesn't make it much smaller in width or length. It doesn't make it much easier either, although I could carry this mattress myself (as a woman lol). Once it shrunk, I was able to roll it up and secure it with the three Velcro straps that came with it. The straps also double as handles to help you carry the mattress into the car (do not pull to avoid ripening). It could fit in SUV, pickup truck and car with large rear seat opening. The mattress bag has been shrinking for over a week, it's still shrinking as I write this review (hey, moving is hard work lol). This vacuum bag might seem expensive, but it can save you space, time, and energy when you're on the move, especially if you don't have much help. There were absolutely NO HOLES in this bag, but you should double check the plastic seal is fully closed or that air is escaping (caused by open zippers). The plastic is thick, it doesn't ripen quickly (but again, you don't have to drag it to the floor). There is no vacuum air pump, so you NEED a vacuum to seal the bag and remove air from the mattress. Also, this can ONLY be used on a foam and/or latex mattress, NOT a full compression spring and/or hybrid mattress. Hope this review helps :)
