Faucet leaking during installation. never had to be used

This was installed by a professional. in the garage of a new house. THE WATER TAP IS LEAKING! Now it's holding up the rest of the plumbing in the house because we have to turn off the water until we figure out a fix. and I'm not talking about a small leak! The bowl itself is nice and cute and well packaged, but if it can't be used, it's useless! Fingers crossed we can fix the faucet. The plumber thinks this is a special faucet and you shouldn't change it. can also get a brand new shell. be cheaper!
