Thanks to Covid, like most people around the world, the need to take care of your hair has increased significantly. To be honest I don't know if this is a new product in response to the increased market demand for hair care products but it works the way I need it to. I started with Phillips for the same price in a kit that was a bit smaller and lighter. This product lasted maybe 3 1/2 full haircuts before dying out. It could be a combination of cheap design and my poor cleaning process, but either way it was clear that cutting a full head of hair wasn't very comfortable. This set works just as well as I remember my professional barber scissors. Cuts hair cleanly without snagging and I don't hear any rattling from the motor skipping under load. The only drawback I see is the weight. These things are pretty heavy and easily double the weight of the Phillips clippers I've had before. The battery is much larger, the materials appear to be all-metal, and the blades themselves feel much more durable. This is good in some cases, but trying to hold it for long periods of time can cause wrist discomfort. I spent my sweet time slowly cutting my hair in stages compared to a full cut to the lowest level. I'm sure you can solve some of these problems just by quickly trimming all the hair in a few strokes. Another thing I would like (which is a minor complaint) is the adjustable blade length for the included custom trimmer. It seems too wide for anything, especially trying to get behind your ears or a beard/mustache. But in any case, this is not a problem. Overall this kit works flawlessly and comes with a wide range of accessories. It's worth the extra cost compared to some other entry-level kits that only include 1 trimmer. Only time will tell the overall quality. I only have 1 cut that I used for about 30-45 minutes. The battery life was excellent during this time and didn't even drop below 90%. RECOMMENDED!
