I bought this product to track family drivers but I quickly found that it could do more than just GPS tracking. Activation was quick and easy. Simply create an account, enter your device's serial number and select a tracking package. Two plans were available. One that updates location every 10 seconds and every 60 seconds. The price for the 10 second plan is slightly higher than the 60 second plan. They offer a discount if you pay several months in advance. I'd love to see more plans to choose from in future updates. I went with the 60 second plan but can switch to the 10 second plan as one minute seems too long. Installation couldn't be easier. You just find the OBD2 connector on the vehicle and check that the device is oriented correctly (you can't screw this up as the device can only work in one direction). Then turn the ignition key. You don't even have to start the car fully, it's enough if the lights on the dashboard come on and you're done. The GSP app and website will pick it up in no time. I have concerns about removing the device as it felt tight when trying to remove it. I was mainly checking that it would fall out of the slot when riding on the street. I haven't looked at the site yet, but maybe there's a guide for that. The web interface for the device is great! There are many options available in the web interface that I don't see in the mobile app, but they may be available in future updates. Using the web interface, you can set up OBD alerts for various conditions that can be detected by the vehicle. These features may not work if your vehicle does not support them. You can set alerts for moderate, excessive, and severe speeding, braking, cornering, collision detection, fuel level, unplugged, powered on, and battery level. You can choose to have these notifications sent to your mobile phone via email or via SMS or mobile app. There are several other features such as trip playback and reports that can be exported to various document formats. I couldn't get notifications to work, but I'm not sure I fully understand their purpose and flow. However, I like that these options are available because they provide more information than just tracking. This allows you to quickly determine whether the vehicle may have been in an accident (impact detection) or have run out of fuel. I am satisfied with this product. It offers a lot of options and appears to be a very well made product. So easy to set up and use, anyone can do it. I hope the company will offer more plan options in the future.
