I put this on my front door because my 2 year old grandson who has Nonverbal Autism is running away. He doesn't understand the danger of leaving home and riding his bike down the street alone. I was sure that this would prevent him from escaping. Instead, I stood there and watched whether or not he could figure it out before trusting him. Glad I did. It took him about 7 seconds to yank his butt, open the door and run, giggling, so proud of himself. If he's not strong enough to stop a two-year-old with special needs, who will he stop? I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I know not all kids will pull it like a special needs child but I bought 3 and after that I threw them all off. Instead, we have a combination bar so we can keep it locked even as we're going in and out throughout the day.
