My Dachshund Spencer is 25 pounds and is 11 years old. He usually runs around everywhere but gets tired after about a mile. I decided to take him on the 2019 Los Angeles AIDS Walk which includes a 5 mile walk so I bought this bag to put him in when he gets tired. I found it perfect because it was easy to carry around when I wasn't using it. It's a bit big for that to be honest, but it was so useful that day that I'm not even mad. It doesn't feel uncomfortable, just heavy! I introduced him to him at home at short intervals so that he wouldn't be afraid. He seemed to really enjoy it and on the day of the event I was able to wear it while standing in the crowd at the opening ceremony. It was an unexpected bonus because I was able to watch the play without worrying about someone stepping on it (you don't want a transvestite tripping over your dachshund). He was tired from a walk, as expected, and happily reached into his pocket. The downside, of course, is that the 25.5-pound bag is a bit awkward to carry, especially in the LA heat, but it's better than holding it for 4 miles. Also, I could put my wallet and water bottle in there. We've used it several times since then to cool him down when he went mad outside the house. Like on Christmas when he couldn't stop fighting our cousin's pit bull. We just put him in a bag and he calmed down. This would be ideal for a small dog, especially if you take your dog with you often.
