We have this fireplace in our camper to warm up in the morning. The thermostat works very well once you dial it. The remote control is a big bonus. Has buttons for on/off, flame height and heater on or off. To set the thermostat, you need to open the door and manually turn the dial to get the right setting. It will take a few iterations, but you'll eventually get it set up. I had to set mine to around 9 hours to avoid overheating in our small space. Well under the 6 hour full heat setting. At first I was concerned that there wasn't a 750W and 1500W setting, but with the thermostat this wasn't an issue. Flames and logs are very attractive and about as good as for electric fireplaces.
