Review on 🚿 Grohe 46174000 MetalFlex Hose for Kitchen Faucet, 59-Inch, Chrome by Shawn Parker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty easy setup, but the reviews help!

If you are unfamiliar with the procedure, it is very important to familiarize yourself with the details. I also checked out the Grohe video from their website. For the install, I reused an old spring, a chrome nut from an old hose that connects to my manual faucet, and a quick coupler. I used a very small amount of petroleum jelly type lube to make it easier to place the o-ring on the new hose in my hand. The hardest part was getting my "quick" shedding to, well, lose weight! After releasing the sliding piece, it took a surprising amount of force to pop it out and make sure you have paper towels handy as water in the hose loop will soon spread all over the closet floor. With the advice of gluing the old hose to the new one or using a rope, in my case I found it quite easy to pull out the old hose needed to remove the old parts. Most of it came out right away, except for the last 6 inches or so, which required some wobbling and a little extra effort, but then they slid right out. And the new one slipped on top, after I swapped the old chrome hand fitting over to the new hose, slipped in with no problem. It's important to connect it with the hand you're holding as I'm not sure if it disappears into the faucet body for a while or not. into the faucet body, it's fairly easy to slide the spring back in, hold it in place, and re-tighten the quick connector. Putting it back in was easier than taking it out. Turned the water back on and everything was fine. Definitely not. It costs $100 an hour to install and I have to dump half of my hoarded groceries under the sink!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Tape
