Review on 🍴 Lipper International Large Teak Wood Edge Grain Kitchen Serving Paddle Board, 20x8x0.75-Inch by Jennifer Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really cool. a few caveats. but really great.

What a really nice board! Definitely 5 stars (for now. If anything changes I'll come back and edit this review). grooved side), except when butchering a turkey I need larger grooves and a hole. Maybe a big board. (Actually, I put a board like this in a large pot to catch drips, and I don't bother buying a giant turkey cutting board.) Most importantly, this board, like many others I have, won't warp had, forgiven? ? I don't think so, because when I examine the edge it looks like they did a good job matching the fibers of the pieces so that the "curved up" piece next to the "curved up" one curved" piece lies - if you don't. You know what I mean, don't worry, it's just a carpenter's method of preventing excessive warping. The board consists of five pieces of 16 x 2 inches glued together, the first and last are 1 inch wide. Unlike other boards I've seen, the glue between the pieces is a very thin stripe but visible. No problem, just an observation. (FYI, if you ever need to fix a cracked cutting board, use Titebond III glue, which is food grade, and clamp it in place.) The board obviously needed some oil when it arrived, so I used food grade mineral oil. No instructions came to him. Is there anything better than this for ticks? It took a small amount of oil soaked in it overnight. Edges, grooves, etc. were adequate but not perfectly sanded to a silky finish. Nothing that I found to be a problem. After lubrication, the appearance is beautiful. Of course, I expect everything to be scratched. If you love wood grains, you won't be disappointed. Golden and brown. I didn't like that the Lipper logo was slightly embossed on the flat side of the board. It's not deep enough to cause cutting problems or catch bits of food, but it's deep enough to feel if you run your fingers over it, which shouldn't be. Put it on the edge, Lipper! Worse, there was a 2" sticker that peeled off easily enough, but left a sticky, gooey mess on the board that was very difficult to peel off - and even now I can see a circular shadow where the adhesive was . Not necessarily, IMHO. The board came disassembled from Revain, right at the bottom of a 12x16 box. I love that there is no plastic wasted in the packaging. It's really fun to carve on this board. From the knife I can tell this is a harder wood than my other boards (maple or ash I think) but so far it doesn't blunt the knife any more than other woods. I use a honer whenever the knives seem to need it. (I've found that bamboo knives dull faster.) The edges of the board are sharp and square. So far the cutting hasn't left any noticeable scratches on the board, but I suspect it won't be for long. In short, I think it's worth the price. There was only one review when I bought this so I couldn't do my usual fake point-come on the site, but I feel like I've been really lucky with a board that's doubly so for this exceptional quality could have cost a lot. And it's made in the USA from sustainable teak. Less than $30 for a fee that can cost $50 or $60.
