Noise Cancelling: I use these on drums and guitar - electronic drums that obviously make some noise. My eardrums are full mesh so they don't make too much noise but the cymbals and hi-hat are rubber coated plastic and YES they make a lot of noise - I can't hear them while playing. I really can't hear anything other than what I'm trying to focus on. not directly from my effects to my headphones, which I prefer. Sound quality is in a really good range, no junk, no clicks, no hiss that shouldn't be there, no hum from other electronics in the area. Volume Control - It's more about the included cable. My phone fell off with this cable. The phone is in perfect condition, no scratch but this cable broke like a dry branch hit by an angry gorilla. I can't honestly rate this as I've never used this feature before. It really has nothing to do with the headphones themselves, but here's what you have. All in all, it was great that I could easily switch from 3.5mm to 6mm if needed and use just one cable without having to carry adapters around. deal with it. The fact that my cats seem to like the taste of wires and cases makes this an even better option as it's easy to get a replacement cord somewhere but if the cat decides to chew on the end of the headphone cord. there is little to fix. It solves that problem (although they probably weren't after the "people with cat bridles" market).
