Review on πŸ”Œ High-Quality Replacement USB Charger for Garmin Vivoactive 3/4/4S - Fast Charging Clip for GPS Smartwatch by Courtney Richardson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Just a charging cable, without the possibility of reliable data transmission!

I wanted a second Garmin compatible cable for my Vivoactive 3 in addition to the original Garmin cable that I can carry with me and use on the go when needed. I was hoping that the cable would work not only as a charging cable (as the name suggests!) but also as a data cable to connect the Garmin watch to the computer. As for charging, I haven't had any issues with it. But as for the data transfer, unfortunately I had problems from the first moment I received it. It appears that when the cable is connected to my watch, the cable's data pins cannot securely connect to the corresponding pins on the watch, although the pins do not appear to be damaged. To make a connection, I have to move the cable back and forth a bit to get the necessary contact for the data pins. This is really cumbersome and annoying if you are interested in data transfer. To make sure it wasn't a watch issue, the original Garmin cable worked the entire time with my watch as the suspension. But with this cable, the slightest movement of the cable or the watch can interrupt a sustained data connection. All of this means that I cannot recommend this data cable, although it works well for charging Garmin watches. Here's an update on my review. This company has very friendly customer service. I was contacted by a representative and offered a refund or a different cable. I asked for a factory tested cable and received a new cable a few days later. Unfortunately, the new cable has the same problem - an unreliable data connection. So one might want to add another point in the rating for the friendly customer service, but since the company couldn't solve the problem, I'm leaving the rating unchanged.
