A Photographer's Jacket – Good Fit

The jacket is everything I expected. The packaging was just right, but was opened by local Customs in Bogota. My chest size is 40.5 ins. and waist 36 ins. I therefore ordered the next size up, and chose a Large (US Size) jacket. It is an excellent fit for me to wear over a shirt and pullover (I live on the Andes Mountains, in Colombia). It has 16 pockets in all. Excellent for my photography purposes where I'd have all sorts of little items that are really best kept in a pocket, on the photographer.I would have given the jacket 5 Stars, but for a few points; three to be precise. Let me list them. I wish it had been made of heavier material for colder climates (I would not mind paying extra for heavier cotton material). Secondly, there are two chest pockets on the inside that are a little difficult to access: they are too deep. They should be OK for larger, flatish items; but smaller ones would require some fishing inside the pockets. Lastly, the item came with some stains on the inside shoulder. It appears to be some oil or food stains. That is a No-no! Hence my 4 Stars. It will shortly go into a washing machine (as recommended by the manufacturer). I will update readers on how it stands its first wash before I actually commence using the jacket. I have one additional wish for the designer, I wish there was a place where I'd have been able to clip a pen.Update: The stains came off, after the wash. On closer observation I found another flaw. Not a show-stopper, but a flaw nonetheless. The stitching has obviously been done on high speed sewing machines. We know they are not easy to handle perfectly. In a couple of places the stitching has gone out of the area where it should have remained, requiring the tailor to go over the area again. It is there for all those who have an eye for detail, to see!

Pros
  • Lightweight construction makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time
Cons
  • The vest may be too long or short for some individuals
