After wet snow and ice, the hiking trails nearby were treacherous. One pair each for me and my wife for free! Easy to put on and the thick elastic stays flexible in cold temperatures. Rustproof spikes and chains don't rust from road salt, but we do wash them. I've ridden mine over 20 miles and they're still sharp. I don't wear them on large paved areas, but they seem pretty tolerant of the occasional street crossing. I bought size XL for my US size 12 (Euro size 47) Lowa men's hiking shoes. My wife has size L for her US size 10 (Euro 41). They offer a snug fit but are easy to use even with cold fingers. If you want to laugh at the ice and get back on the trails, buy one of these. Best money I've spent this winter!
