Review on Supersonic SC 2812 Portable Lightweight Widescreen by Kevin Harmon

Great TV, poor monitor

For a portable TV, this is a great price with an impressive range of features. But I bought it primarily for use as a monitor, and that's its biggest weakness. Find out what resolution this display actually has, but it's under 1080p. It has an unusual HDMI interface that fits your device, like many small projectors. In fact, it accepts all types of input resolutions, even 4k. then it converts the received signal and displays it on the screen, alas, the result looks rather unpleasant, the picture is horizontally flattened and blurry. Most resolutions also have black bars on the sides. I've posted all possible resolutions to try and figure out what this thing's native resolution was, but nothing really looked right. Interestingly, 4k was the only input I found that actually took up the entire screen, of course it just looks silly as it doesn't have the pixels to actually display 4k. You can use it as a monitor in a pinch, but seeing squished, blurry text on it for a very long time makes my head hurt. It's not washed out and looks fresh and clear even if it's a little bruised. If you want an inexpensive portable TV that also hooks up your video games and has the bonus FM radio feature, buy one. If you were hoping to use it as a portable monitor, give it a solid pass.
