I chuckle a little when the names of things I grew up with are trite. 'Clamshell' 'Cable Cap' 'Gland' Nevertheless, this is an excellent wire covering for installation through the hull in RVs, boats and various other bulkheads. I bought in part because I wanted a non-conductive feed-through housing for inverter cables in an aluminum clad RV. But unfortunately I should have read more carefully before ordering as 2/0 cables are over 1/2 inch in diameter and this well made product fits cables with a maximum diameter of 12mm. I didn't measure, but I'm guessing 2/0 is 14mm. I noticed a few photos of the product installed horizontally - thought I'd mention that for a long term installation it would be better to have the compression bulkhead connections facing /down/ with a drip loop in the cables rather than on the side. However, baffle padding and rubber compression rings are probably more than adequate, even when placed horizontally.
