First of all, I'm not stupid. I know how to put gas in this damn car. No matter what I do, the upper thread tension is VERY tight and the thread keeps breaking. I've tried cleaning, threading, adjusting the idler wheel, changing needles, changing threads, doing research. Nothing helps and it's so incredibly frustrating. It's garbage. You can't sew 5 inches without snapping the thread. And that's just the main problem. There are so many others. The bobbin winder does not move up and down the bobbin, causing the bobbin to be wound unevenly. I have to help the thread up and down as it winds the bobbin to make it straight. Due to tension issues I couldn't even try other stitches, so I can't comment on that. The walking foot pulls the fabric sideways and the foot angles slightly once you start (as if a screw was loose and flexing where it shouldn't) so you really have to manipulate your material to get a reasonably straight stitch to obtain. There is only one speed. It's REALLY noisy and clumsy (it only sews a thin layer or two of fabric together, by the way). This thing is so annoying I wouldn't even give it to anyone else to "learn".
