as advertised but not great for tree branches

Despite the listing title, this isn't the best way, or even a good way, to remove tree limbs.I got the medium grapple to try to break off a couple of attached-but-dead branches on brittle trees in my backyard. They were too high for my pole pruner, so I thought I'd try a grapple for the first time. Those branches usually snap pretty easy if they're dry-rotted, but in my case they turned out NOT entirely dried out, so put up quite a struggle before I could break them off. Also, unless you have…

Pros
  • I should have bought the larger one.
Cons
  • More expensive than other grappling hooks on the market

Great for lightweight Outdoor usage

Came with rope and grappling hook rope is a very light weight type construction be very conscious of the weight restrictions on the rope

Pros
  • Used it to pull broken limbs from trees , worked well. Seems to be of sturdy construction.
Cons
  • The three claws may not be able to grip onto certain surfaces

Its well made. - my new review

Haven't used it yet, it looks well made and the points are very sharp which I may round off , only using it for tree limb retrieval.

Pros
  • Use with caution. Those tips on the grappling hook are very sharp. Almost like a weapon.
Cons
  • The grappling hook may not be suitable for use in high winds or extreme weather conditions

Better than I ever expected!

Strongest little hook I have ever used. I'm clearing land ant taking down a few trees. Hook is easy to place allowing me to drop a tree any where I want.

Pros
  • Came exactly as advertised. Has been beneficial in removing fallen limbs and trees from the pond!
Cons
  • The carabiner may open unexpectedly if not properly secured

Bigger than it appears in the pic

I got this grappling hook to pull tree branches out of my fishing pond. Works great! My son has also used it with the tractor to pull briars out of trees. Again, works great.

Pros
  • I used to pull down dead limbs. Good quality and nice long cord.
Cons
  • Heavier than alternative materials, such as aluminum or plastic, making it slightly more cumbersome to carry

Buy the good ones like this, not the cheapies

Definitely helped with some of my small tree removal, save some money into it yourself. these will come in handy next summer too when I start doing tree work again

Pros
  • THIS WORKED VERY WELL IN RETRIEVING A LOST SIDE RAIL FROM A BOAT TRAILER THAT FELL INTO THE WATER
Cons
  • For myself I would of likes it to be bigger

I’ve stabbed myself with this accidentally

Very sharp. Strong rope. I use this to supplement magnet fishing. I don’t really know what other uses this has but it works well for that ?

Pros
  • ‎Unisex-adult
Cons
  • The weight of the grappling hook may limit the distance it can be thrown

This is great! good for me

I bought this for my seven-year-old son as a Christmas present. He’s been talking about grappling hooks ever since some Lego movie or what not. I thought it was so cheap it would be flimsy and not too tough. This thing is a beast. We used it to grapple up a very steep hill in the snow, and he use it as a type of ice ax to go up a small hill. This thing is really tough, and the rope is really great. Couldn’t be happier with the choice.

Pros
  • Used to remove a broke limb from a large tree. Worked great!
Cons
  • The claws may dig into surfaces, causing damage or leaving marks

points are very sharp! Be careful!

I LOVE this small (I bought the one listed as medium-sized) grapple hook for finding fish lures ,etc. Compact and easy to use! Good strong rope too. I pulled up countless lures and rigs with it in the last week! Improved my tackle group by 100% . Got lots of work to do - restoring lures now. But ,I don't mind. It's something I do periodicly anyway. LOLThis was worth every penny spent! Hopefully , I get many years of use outta it! THANK YOU!

Pros
  • The medium looks very strong and nice
Cons
  • More difficult to pack due to its shape and weight

Sharp and sturdy on my review.

Sharp, light weight, sturdy unit. Cord seems well made. I use it for casting a line across large creeks/small rivers to cross with an inflatable raft.

Pros
  • Just a little smaller than expected but still a nice product
Cons
  • The grappling hook may not be strong enough to support heavy loads

100% in every respect

Terrific grappling hook! Absolutely no complaints at all. Solid, bright chrome finish works for anything and everything. I have pulled stumps (and I mean BIG stumps), felled trees, utility poles, enormous piles of heavy, heavy brush, even climbed trees with it like Batman. No complaints. The tips are extremely sharp and should be used with utmost caution. Comes with caps but I use corks for better protection when not in use. A friend of mine saw mine and got his own and uses it to anchor his 8'

Pros
  • Have not used it yet but it looks like it will do the job.
Cons
  • Only one size available, limiting its versatility

This will be the perfect heft for me to attach to a rope and pull down broken tree branches that I cannot reach. Like the protective plastic tips to keep safely stored and from injury.I used an old one I had made myself from old curved iron before. This should prove as useful or better. And shouldn’t rust or break like the iron piece did. Attach your rope and its ready to swing onto objects!

Pros
  • Hook was very sturdy. Rope was garbage and carabiner was a complete piece of junk.
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in rocky, uneven terrain

Great hook for the money!

I bought this book for retrieving items from the water at oir lake property. I found this home kit be very well made, good welds and heavy steel. I purchased the large hook and this will be able to accomplish anything that I may need it for in the future. I would definitely purchase this again.

Pros
  • ‎Hook with Rope
Cons
  • The stainless steel material may reflect sunlight, causing glare
