I work in the telecoms industry where I have to climb great heights on cell towers almost every day and these lanyards/daisy chains are extremely useful for some reason. #1, they allow me to use so many different attachment point options to tie down while on the tower that without them I would normally be limited to just one length with more traditional lanyards which are also much heavier and bulkier which forces me to wrap a heavier sling around the steel pipe I'm attached to to shorten it. With these straps, I can simply choose the length I want and attach a carabiner to secure it, or just thread the end of the pendant through the loop of choice and back into the D-ring on my harness. When I have to work from point to point at different heights and distances in my work, these tapes save me valuable time and energy. I also love the fact that they are so thin and light and you can carry them up the tower with me by simply slipping them into one of my tool pouches or attaching them to one of the rings on my bean charm. It is also very important to note that these particular oars are rated for 23 knots. That equates to a tensile strength of 5175 pounds. OSHA is now demanding this for lanyards in the telecommunications industry.
